Description

‘Time Steeler’ has been lovingly and meticulously maintained for the past 20 years whilst in her current ownership. A reluctant sale due to family circumstances, this vessel has proven herself as a wonderful family cruiser for both coastal hopping and extended offshore passages, having cruised most of the NZ coast from Stewart Island to Cape Reinga and cruising to the Pacific Islands. She has been thoughtfully fitted out for extended, short-handed offshore cruising and has only had very light coastal use for the past 6 years.
Her lines are from the pen of Erwin Haag, whose successful designs are synonymous with safe, sturdy boats that are capable of withstanding ocean passages. Her design is very sea kindly with a deep forefoot and a soft double chine running aft, with a long fin keel and skeg-hung rudder providing excellent tracking in a seaway. Built in 1987, her structure has been maintained in excellent condition and was fully certified by MSA, ensuring peace of mind for any purchaser that she is structurally sound. Built from 3, 4 and 5mm steel, the hull interior is coated in Carbomastic paint system and the exterior in Altex Devoe epoxy paint system professionally applied whilst all closed cell panel thermal insulation is fully removable to enable excellent access to all of the interior structure. Her keel is fully integrated (no keel bolts) ensuring an extremely rigid and strong structure, and the full length rudder skeg affords maximum protection for the steering gear.
The ketch rig offers numerous sail combinations for any point of sail, and keeps individual sail sizes smaller and more manageable if sailing shorthanded. Reef Rite roller furling is installed for the genoa.
